Central Ohio Tractor Pullers Association
The COTPA was first chartered as a non-profit organization in May, 1997, as the Central Ohio Antique Tractor Pullers Association. Their objective was to enter, sponsor, promote and organize the recreational activity of antique tractor pulling. Seventeen years later we are proud to say one of the original trustees is still pulling today.
As the pullers demand for speed and power increased, as well as the need for more modern machines, new classes were formed. To stay with the times, our name changed in November, 2007, to the Central Ohio Tractor Pullers Association; eliminating the antique segment of our club. This also allowed our organization to more align ourselves with the promoters, pullers and especially our fans. Now the COTPA has approximately 90 members pulling in over 100 pulls. This encompasses the entire state of Ohio as well as portions of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Michigan. Our crowds range into the thousands.
COTPA is a professional organization positioned between the local and national puller level. Our diverse group is made up of local pullers that moved up in the ranks as well as national pullers that, due to travel distances and costs, allows them to continue to pull professional but economically. We require that all of our members have safe, quality equipment that looks professional. With our various classes, we can ensure an entertaining and crowd pleasing show. Our shows range any where from medium to large county fairs to festivals.
We are proud to be a part of an exciting, crowd pleasing, ever changing sport!
